Dr. Maling Ebrahimpour is dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. Prior to his appointment at URI, Dr. Ebrahimpour was dean of the College of Business at the University of South Florida Saint Petersburg (USFSP). Dr. Ebrahimpour is the recipient of several awards including the Shingo Award for Excellence in Manufacturing Research. He has done consulting for various companies in three continents specializing in process improvement and value engineering. Dean Ebrahimpour served in various capacities at AACSB International, the most prestigious global accreditation organization in the world. Dr. Ebrahimpour has authored or co-authored over 70 articles that have been published in scientific journals and proceedings. Most of his work focuses on various issues of quality in both service and manufacturing companies. Furthermore, he has served on the editorial review board of several journals such as Journal of Quality Management (published by ASQ), Journal of Operations Management, and the International Journal of Production Research. Currently, he is the editor of Decision Line Newsletter published by the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). Dr. Ebrahimpour is the President Elect for the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). He is currently serving on the board of Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF), Member of the Leadership Council of the Florida Holocaust Museum, and Member of the Board of the Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) in Tampa Bay Region. Other organizations in which Dr. Ebrahimpour has been involved include RI/ATT Quality Award Organizer, Member of the board St. Petersburg Arts Alliance (SPAA), Member of the Board Woodriver Health Services (RI), and Center for Performance Excellence (RI). He is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Saint Petersburg, Florida.
